Atherosclerosis

Your heart

devoured

by hate

your tongue

doused black.

Slit skin

holes big enough

for more words to flow through –

a loaded vessel

a build up of doubts,

frustrations

stop movement.

Legs turn blue

a constant ache

pins and needles.

No oxygen to the brain

less thought through

no rest

no release

shortness of breath –

a death sentence.

Plaque surfaces

from every opening

from every wound

thick as your skin once was.

You’ve become stagnant;

no one will tread these waters.
